Pink hair..?

If I died my medium-brown hair with pink hair dye, would I need to bleach it first? or ifI do it without bleaching, would the pink would be purple or something?

No I'll not be dying my whole head completely pink so don't say "eww."

Pink hair..?

Is the dye semi-permanent?

If you want your hair the color of what you see on the swatches, you'll need to bleach first. If you don't bleach beforehand, the color will probably not show. I've tried doing that with my hair. It didn't even come out purple nor red. =/

that's my hair after I bleached and dyed it :)

This was BEFORE I bleached it and tried to dye it pink (that section of my hair was light brown at the time):

Notice the difference?

erm...please ignore the weird pose.

Have fun!

Pink hair..?

eeeewwww no just don't die it at all!

Pink hair..?

eeeeewwwwwwwwwwww don't die it at all

Pink hair..?

my girl friend said bleach it first or it will turn red

Pink hair..?

Yep, you would need to put a base of like lgiht blonde beneath the pink or else the pink will turn like a dark purple or may not even show at all. [I have dark brown hair so I understand!]

Pink hair..?

why? why would you do that?

I like 'medium brown'

Pink hair..?

I would get the wash out stuff first to see if i would even like it . Once you do it... you got it!

Pink hair..?

i have pink hair

but only because my sister dyed my hair when i was asleep

as a prank my room smelled like hair dye but not any kind of bleach so i dont think so how ever my hair was blonde so i have no idea

Pink hair..?

The medium brown should cover the pink, provided it is darker. For even-ness sake you can try to remove some of the pink by re-bleaching but a medium brown should not show any pink. So let the condition of your hair dictate the amount of work you do.

Pink hair..?

Yes.. You need to prolly hightlight it first, maybe use foils at a good salon... You can't lighter your hair with just color, it will turn it orange... Then mix the pink color after you have rinsed out the bleach. It should be ok.. but you will have to bleach first..!! That will give you the best results..!!

Best of luck-

Pink hair..?

you would need to bleach it and then of course when the pink washed out you would have bleached hair

Pink hair..?

Yes. Then wait a day or so with conditioning then pink away...

Pink hair..?

why are there so many people not wanting you to dye your hair???

bleaching? well, first know that this is hard core stuff for you hair %26amp; if you do it too much it could cause your hair to fall out.

so maybe you could dye it with out having to bleach it first, it depends how dark your hair really is.

But if you are going to bleach it 1st bleach your whole head (or just parts), then as time goes on just touch up your roots.

...from my expierience having dark colored hair, without bleaching your hair and putting pink on top will make it look like a dark shade of purple...which can also be cool.

good luck! :)

Pink hair..?

my friend tried that without bleaching it and it turned red so bleach it first

Pink hair..?

i would bleach first....

i dyed it a pink form a dark purple and it showed....

but it really depends on the dye...

i used manic panic....

it is the best bright dye out there!

Pink hair..?

Most likely you'll have to strip the hair first before dying it so that the color will stay in your hair. If you do not bleach out your hair first and your hair is dark, the color won't stick. I have black hair and put in fuschia highlights like 2 yrs ago - also - after you get it done, do not use detox shampoo because it will strip the color from your hair faster. U might also want to think about what the color is going to fade to or what you're going to do after it fades because the color isn't as rich once it starts fading. Pink fades to like a cotton candy pink...
