I recently dyed my natural medium brown hair to dark brown. Now I want to dye my hair to a light brown/dark blonde. I got Garnier Fructis Light Ash Brown, but my hair is still the same color. What should I do?

You will need to find a high lift dye. Or bleach your hair first. But high lift is more safe! Dark color is hard to color over with light. I'm not sure how long it's been since you colored your hair, but be careful, you could end up with an icky green color if you mix too many colors. First of all, steer clear of the Ash and Golden colors. Ash tends to make your hair look gray and a little dull and people who have brown hair should never use Golden because 90% of the time your hair will turn reddish or orange. You want to use neutral colors. You can get a color remover, to strip out the dark color and then try another color; this will be your quickest solution. Or you can go with a lighter shade of blonde. Maybe a light neutral blonde. Check the back of the box. It will give a chart of what color your hair is now and what color it will be when you use this color dye. Just because the chick on the front has white hair doesn't mean yours will ever get that light. Just be sure you do a test strand and watch your process time so you can get the right shade that you want. Or you could just go to a salon and let them fix it. Good luck and God bless.
