How to lighten dark hair without going to the salon?

My hair is naturally a medium brown but I dyed it black about a month ago. I just use One n Only Colorfix on it the other day which turned it orange/yellow and then bought a box of medium brown hair dye but it changed it back to black again. I do not want to go to a salon and I need a way to fix this like fast. Should I use a bleach or color stripper or what??

honestly, going from black to light is HARD and you will mess up your hair. go to a salon. even if you bleach your hair it will turn a random orange color because its not PROFESSIONAL GRADE....seriously do it right and go to a salon

Definitely go to the salon but bring old pictures of your natural hair and pictures of the color you want. Although you go to salons because they are professionals and you hope they are looking out for your best interest some of my worst colorings have been done by hairstylists so i have learned you need to be VERY specific, dont be shy to say EXACTLY what you want, even if they dont like it and unfortunately be willing to spend some money to get it done right. Its not worth getting it done at some cheap place because you will probably need to get it done over and over again and it will eventually add up anyway. Good luck and stay away from hair dye!! ITS BAD! lol

Bleach it. Leave the bleach on until it turns a pale yellow color, but don't leave it on longer than an hour. If it's not the color you want by the end of the hour, wash the bleach out, deep condition your hair and get another box of bleach to use the next day. It should lighten in the hour but just incase, buy two boxes.
