you probably have too much things in your hair as is. maybe that is why your curls are not holding. shampoo, condition, rinse with luke warm water, towel blot, rub in thermal proctective cream or spray, comb through blow dry, use kenra thermal spray (it make beautiful curls and hold nicely). but take small section or easy since you are doing your own hair. section it in four or two down the middle. take a curling size section. easy to know the size section should be the same size of your curling iron. thats how you know how big of a section to take. this way heat with transfer thoughout that section of your hair. before your place the curling iron in your hair. spray the strand of hair first. then curl it. dont touch the hair. touching will make the hair fall quicker. when you dont touch it the hair will cool down and set in a beautiful curl. do each strand this way. once finish. use the kenra thermal spray on the entire head. by spraying it arm length of the hair. dont stay in one spot. your not trying to soak the hair. so just about three squirt.

OK if your curling your hair and it falls out something is seriously wrong or your hair is in bad condition. Also what kinda products are you using on your hair? You should get a ceramic curling iron and try that it will not fry out your hair and it works better for keeping a curl and otherwise if you have any kinda curl in your hair at all get it wet put some big tricks hair moose in your hair (its made by matrix), and diffuse it and spray with hair spray looks great.

long hair also makes anice bun. you can also add barretts and such to ur hair and leave it straight. pony tails can be fancied up as well.

I have layers they are really nice.

Layers are a good way to add body to your hair and a bit of face- framing shape to it. In some cases the hair may look shorter from a front veiw, but will remain fairly long looking in the back. I would say yes and no depending on the hair type. You said your hair is medium long, so it just might look a bit shorter, but once it starts to grow it will look longer. I have wavy hair as well, I use a lot of John Frieda products, or Revlon. Depending on your hair texture, I would use a wrap lotion after washing it, it will help your hair stayle stay bouncy, free-flowing and shiny. I would wrap it before I go to sleep at night, it helps it grow healthier. It also makes your layers stand out more beautifly.

i got the same problem except my hair is super duper straight and this really works. ok right after you wash your hair, blow dry hair for 3 mins or let it air dry for 5 mins. then put lots lots lots and lots of mousse in your hair. then if you are going to use a curling iron, blow dry until completely dry. then start curling and evry piece of hair you wrap on the curling iron count until 20-30 secs(its might take a long time to finish like about 1-2 hours.) or if you are going to use rollers or hot rollers then blow dry until hair is damp( just a lil lil lil wee bit dry like 90%-95% dry) then just start rolling. this really works on me i did it once and it took 3 and a half hrs. but it was worth it, it came out great and even stayed until the next day.

Redken has some very good products that assist in getting hair and keeping hair curly. I have much luck with them. Another less expensive option is the Loreal Studio Line. They have several sprays, gels and mousses that work well too.

I am going to the beauty school in only two days so I need help FAST ! I have worn it in a tight twisted knot for many years (very very easy) but with my dishwater gray rapidly coming it, it looks horribly mousey at this time. professionally speaking, i would say a carmel color (so it won't look red, but more neutral color)

personall speaking, i would get a halo (a strip from temple to temple, inside the hairline one inch) of a color like pink or purple. it only shows when you turn your head or the wind catches your hair just right. it's just a hint of something-something to be fun and different.

i did this to a client of mine at prom time. she was blond. i did a band of blue and a band of pink then an updo. her dress was irridescent. she looked so cool! she looked like a doll (an actual doll) in pictures!

Everyday, get up about 30 minutes earlier than you usually do. Then, take a nice lukewarm shower and wash your hair with shampoos and conditioners that are made for straight hair. (I like to use Herbal Essences: Dangerously Straight - it works!) After that, blow dry your hair and use an acceptable flat iron (I prefer CHI but see sources for the website that helped me when I first got a straightner).

Then, comb your hair out and part as wished.

Finally, use some high-quality hairspray that you can purchase at salons and spray your hair with a nice, thick coat.

I have very kinky curly hair (all natural) and it's medium length. I straighten my hair by: Blow dry using a round brush (round brushes are designed to add curl, curve and volume to straight hair, as well as to straighten wavy or curly hair) then I straighten my hair with a straightening iron (do it by layers starting from the bottom). After that I use a regular curling iron to soften the edges and such. All my irons are ceramic - its better for straightening. I also us frizz type products in my hair to help it straighten and not be frizzy. The only time my curl comes back is if my hair gets wet (by sweat or water) - this is inevitable because that's just how I was born. If you don't want curl to come back at all, the only way to do it is to professionally and chemically have it straightened. I used to do that but don't anymore... it damages my hair too much and my roots grow out curly so it looks retarded between straightening treatments (which are expensive also). All in all, it takes some time to straighten really curly hair well enough to stay straight... so plan accordingly and stay away from moisture!

You need to go that blonde in stages. It WILL go orange or yellow if you try to do it in one step.

Also, buy yourself some good hair toner, and use if to keep the blonde from oxidising and turning coppery/brassy.

Defiantly get it done professionally. I died my light brown hair hair bleach blond with an at home kit and my hair looked AWFUL! It was orangish blond...then when I tried to dye it back brown it was brown for a while then turn orange.

The hair coloring products in the drug store are remarkably good, will give you the color you're looking for (see examples on the box). About $10 will give you a whole new look, for about a week. The main problem with lightening your hair is what happens to the roots. Be prepared to spend hours keeping it looking right, and doing it every few weeks if you do the whole thing. The roots show almost immediately when there's a big change in color, and dark roots look awful, I think. A better solution is to put light streaks in first, see if you like it. That way roots arent such a problem. And check out the colors close to your own so you can go back to original if you want.

Also, the color does change (yellower) from sunlight, or if it grows long. You have to keep restoring it. Can be hard on your hair. The chemistry: going lighter requires a strong peroxide-type bleach. Going darker doesn't.

Try a light golden brown first, then try golden blonde, then light blonde, then very light blonde. If you go just from brown to blonde, your hair will be very damaged and the ends will break/split. Gradually work your way up to the color you want.

Don't do it yourself!!!! Have a professional do it that doesn't forget about you. When you use box color there is no telling what shade your hair is going to pull and should it turn orange or green you will not know how to fix it yourself. Try a different salon with a higher level stylist. If your hair is only medium brown you should be able to pull to a blonde, but it may require some toning, which those box colors don't tell you how to do.

Yes it will lighten your hair, but mine broke off in the area that I did it when I was 12 and it looked terrible for like a year. I have pictures of me with nasty, fried hair. I'm sure that is not the look you are going for!

Just go with a drugstore brand that will lighten your hair but not as strong as pure HP.

Here's a hint, girls who have bleach blond hair (and weren't born with it) have to go to the salon like every 3 weeks to get touched up, so its better to get highlights, will look more natural and you don't have to go as often (I go every 4 months).

2. Brush about a 1 inch section of hair forward (It must be from the center.) so that it hangs in your face like long bangs.

3. Scrape all of your hair into a loose pony tail at the very back of your head.

4. Tease the section at the front. To do this, take a brush and brush your hair in the wrong direction, creating a fuzz.

5. Pull this back carefully, creating a "poof"!

6. Let out the pony tail and, holding tightly, scrape it back into a tighter pony tail a little higher, including the end of your "poof" hair.

7. Secure tightly.

8. Cover the part of the pony tail with a cute heart clip. You can do this by gluing a heart cut out of red or pink construction paper onto a pin. (Or use a heart in a color that matches your dress. You can use felt pens to color on a pattern!)

9. (optional) Curl end of pony tail.

for winter formal i put my hair in a pony tail and curled it all. i then rolled the top part of my hair and bobby pinned them to my head. i rolled them in small sections and pinned them so that they would stand up. i left the bottom part long and curly. it took a long time to do because i have thick hair and i wanted it to be pretty curly, but i got a bunch of complements on it in the end. go on youtube for more suggestions and step by step videos. thats where i got my hairstyle and it really helps.

I like both. I've had both. For most of my life I've had long hair. A few years ago, I stopped taking care of it and it started to look really dry and bad so I decided to cut it all off. I got a MILLION compliments from it. Pixie cuts can be hella sexy, and long hair can be sexy too. I think it just depends on your personality and how you take care of your hair.

Just remember that if you have a really short haircut you need to keep up with it as best you can, because when it starts to grow out it can look really fugly if you don't take care of it.

Short haircuts really need to be trimmed every 6 weeks.

My hair is awesome - not too thick, not too thin.. I can make it wavy or straighten it out! But my problem is with mousse, when i'm trying to use my natural curls. Somedays I get it just right and my hair is soft and held loosely everywhere. But MOST days I get too much mousse in some parts and not ANY in others!! As of now, I have medium length hair, so I turn my head upside down, squirt a large egg sized dollop on my hand, scrap half of it into my other hand, start at the back of my hair and try to spread it out. It usually comes out looking stiff as hell in 2 strips down the front/side, with not any mousse holding down the other curls in the back!

Don't start at the back of your head.....when you tip your head upside-down, start at the bottom, and scrunch it into your hair, and then bring your head right side up,and you need to get the roots, so that you still have the lift you're looking for. Then, let it AIR DRY.....you can use your fingers after it dries, to separate your hair, to give it the full look you're looking for. When you start right at the bottom, of the back of your head, your getting all the mousse in one place, also, try to not use too much mousse. See about a shampoo volumizer as well, so you're not using so much...at least that works for me....

It sounds like we have similar hair! I tried something new 2 weeks ago and it actually worked!

After washing your hair, try putting absolutely nothing in it. Get dressed do your make up etc. When it's dry use a curling iron to make a couple curls all around....but whn you curl one part, spray a little hairspray on that piece. It takes under 5 minutes and you won't be able to keep up with the compliments all day!

When I want my natural curl....I do the same as you. I found that I had to change mouse brands and also look on the can for "exta hold" or "regular hold"...extra hold is too much for my hair. Plus, make sure you shake the can a lot. That might be the problem. Start with a quarter shape amount instead of egg shape and add more as necessary.

Copper penny is a beautiful natural red color. It will look bright at first, but as it washes out a little (trust me it will) it will look soft and and won't clash with your skin's pink undertones.

Remember red is the hardest color to keep vibrant but it is worth the trouble. Red hair is rare and gorgeous.

4:30?!?! seriously you dont have to wake up that early. wen i used tostraighten mi curly hair i would do it at nighit then put the frizz serum on. i would sleep on a satin pillow it reduces frizz. Then in the morning all i had to do were some touch ups and put on som hairspray for humidity.

it is deffinately worth the money, it straightens and dries at the same time. you may have to follow up with a flat iron but it cuts the time in half. use more frizz serum but not near the roots, also try garnier fructise smoothing milk. apply a heat protectant and a leave in conditioner before styling your hair then to finish it off apply hair spray and comb it through. not too much though.

Wow sounds like you have a problem. I have the same type of hair. Here is somethings that might help you!

1) Get some combs not brushes, and always comb your hair before and after getting in the shower.

2) Get special kinds of Shampoo and Conditioner's (research it first, some kinds work better than others)

3)Also research special kinds of Frizz-free stuff (even the littlest stuff can help, any kind of help was good to me!)

The best Frizz-free are mostly on line or commercialed, (i have found)

4) Chemically straitened really helps! your hair-dresser has to straiten your hair really good other wise is goes a very tiny bit wavey in the back (mostly when you sleep)

When you get it chemically straitened then you have to straiten it a little but not getting up at 4:30 am.

It costs $250, and lasts for 4 months, but is totally worth it!

Chemically straitened is so much money because the beauty salon got a safe chemical, it doesn't frie hair. if you go for the $50 you won't get the same results, the less money the less effective!

5) A good straitener that is use heats up in like 5 seconds not kidding it work really good it doesn't pull your hair like other kinds of straiteners, it is called "CHI" it works better than words can say!

If you want a another good idea is if you straiten your hair at night and sleep on it that way you can just take two minutes just touching up. If you want!

DO NOT get a chemical straighten! I also have wavy hair. After you get it done it is irretractably damaged, worse than the straightening! I think mine was $50. It barely did anything and it became so dry and it looked like hell for a very long while. If I really don't want to get up early in the morning I take a shower at night and blow dry and straighten it and sleep on it so it's extra flat and use Aussie's leave in conditioner spray and it straightens it and protects from heat as well. And use Garnier's sleek and shine shampoo and conditioner. And I sometimes I also use Aussie's 3 Minute Deep Moisturizing Conditioner it works miracles. Why can't we all be born with perfectly straight smooth hair!!!? I feel your agony!

honey, everyone who has curly hair wants staright hair and everyone who has straight hair wants curly hair. its just the way it is. and u shouldnt have to wake up at 4:30 in the morning to style your hair...thats sad. try to avoid straightening your hair as much as you can...its horribly damaging and probably at least part of the cause of the frizz. try blow drying your hair with a round brush so it straightens without a flat iron. but if u must straighten, make sure to use a heat protectant. u may have to splurge a little on more expensive frizz serums or straightening balms for your hair. (ask a stylist if ur unsure). wear your hair up if you dont like wearing it down in its natural state..just try to avoid heat damage as much as you can. to get rid of the damage, get any split ends trimmed, deep condition, and use a shampoo/conditioner for dry and frizzy hair. hope i helped...good luck :)

Get a colour mouse that lasts for 8 to 10 washes. This way the colour isn't too intense and if you don't like it you aren't committed. L'Oreal has one that I use all the time and I too have brown hair and light brown eyes.

I'm one who doesn't believe in dying, but whatever floats your boat. They say your brows should be a shade or two darker than your hair, but that obviously doesn't go with what you're asking so why not check with a pro or a magazine? =) Maybe you can just dye it the type of brown that looks black in artificial light but contains brown highlights in natural sunlight.

Hair can be difficult to manage. If it is that frizzy and you are trying to grow it out you probably need to have it trimmed. It is most likely your split ends that are making your hair frizzy. You can also put some mouse or gel through your hair when it is wet and that will help keep your hair together. One more tip is to wear your hair in an updo. Make it look messy. Messy is hot today. try the sunsilk anti poof. two of my sister in laws use it, and it does amazing things! and maybe try a brush instead of a comb. if it's wet, use a wide tooth comb. when its dry, use a brush. also, do you have curly hair? if it's curly, don't try to comb it out. get a pick.. just pick it slightly.. and work some mousse or gel through it and let it air dry naturally. i hope this helps

if you have hair that tends to friz, brushing it more cause more friz. Try using a defrizzer and that should really help out. Also people are just mean, look at your own hair and make your own decision!!! Hope this helped. Smiles!!

If you flat iron your hair, then you need to protect it with a thermal styling agent such as Matrix Sleek Look Flat Iron spray. You may need to do a deep conditioning treatment on your hair. You can go to Sally's and buy cholesterol. Dampen your hair and put the cholesterol on from base to ends. Put a Bag like they use for perms on you hair. If you're at home, leave it on for as many hours as you can stand it. Clean house or whatever. The heat from your scalp will help it to penetrate into the hair shaft. I usually leave it on for 2 hours or so then shampoo out as normal.

I love my hair. I take care of it too because it's very long. Try using the new Panteen Pro-V Ice Shine shampoo and conditioner every day. Then after your shower wrap your hair in a towel so that the towel soaks up most of the water from your hair. Most women think their hair will look great even if they dont blow dry it. WRONG!! You should blow dry your hair every time. It help distributes your natural oils into your hair. So once your hair is no longer dripping water I then put a little drop of L'Oreal Studio Line "Hot" Straight. Its in a pink bottle. It helps protect your hair from heat and adds a really nice shine. Then blow dry your hair from roots to tips. After that use a flat iron set on medium heat. Start from the middle of your hair on that though because you dont want to straighten the body out of your hair so just straighten your ends basically. You should try curling your hair. Create a deep side part and for some extra drama tease the crown area for some volume..kind of a poof. Gather all your hair and pull it into a low pony off to one side and let the curls cascade over your shoulder. Use a cute rhinestone barrette to cover the elastic or for a more subtle and sophisticated look wrap a one inch section of hair and wrap it around the elastic and secure with a bobby pin. This look is very glam but still looks young and trendy. Hayden Panatierre and Eva Longoria sport this hairdo a lot =D

Since you have a light tan going...maybe sticking to gold colors and keeping the face monochromatic will be very pretty. Use a little tinted moisturizer to even out your skintone. i like these little at home remedies, like milk and brown sugar for my face....ect. does anybody have anything for hair or skin. things that would be in a normal home. nothing with like coconut milk or lavender oil, things that normal ppl dont keep around the house. i have medium wavy hair looking to grow it out and maintain the friz and keep it shiny.

Alright, I know it sounds really gross, but the best thing for my hair is.... mayonnaise. Its super gross, and hold your breath when you put it in your hair, but 4 of my friends commented on my hair the day I washed it. In the shower, just put some on your hands, and use it like shampoo. Afterwards, unless you like smelly hair, wash it with your regular shampoo/conditioner.

Other suggestions I have heard (but not tested) are:

Honey on your face

Oil (just normal like vegtable or olive) left in hair all night

Toothpaste on nails (to whiten)

Mint teabags on eyes (for puffy dark eyes)

Good Luck, and also try searching the web for beauty tips. Some magazines (like seventeen, or other girly ones) will have good websites.

Changing shampoo and conditioner can go along way to keeping the frizzies away. Try Herbal Essence None of Your Frizzness shampoo and conditioner. It will keep your hair from absorbing unnecessary moisture and getting weird. Use a leave in conditioner designed to keep hair sleek. Fructis has one, but I can't think of the exact name. Sleek and Shine - maybe??? You can get all of these at Wal Mart for a resonable price. Then, when you go through all the hassle of straightening it, it will stay straight.

Of course, you could always just make a high ponytail, wrap your hair around it and pin it. Or gather your hair at the base of your scalp in the back and start twisting while working your way upward. Tuck the end in at the top, pin in place and you have a French Twist.

extentions and weaves are the same thing...but its not really bad for your hair.....you wash it like your own hair and style it....if you watch the show So You Think You Can Dance the girl Lacey (i think thats her name) she has extentions....and you would have never known that until she had revealed it.....but the key is to get a good weave....dont buy it cheap because you will get what you payed for.....i recommend human hair

I would say.....ask your hairdresser, she/he probably knows best. But, i would say to go with some cute layers maybe even sidebangs. If you don't want to go with the whole sidebang thing, because that can get a little annoying, go with short layers for the summer, it is lightweight and gives hair extra volume to highlight your face!

I kind of had the same problem except my hair is not very thick. I just got it cut off up to my chin and I couldn't be happier! It's shiny, all the damaged ends are cut off so it's the original color now, and funny thing is people keep telling me they love the color!! I blow dry my hair and it helps it stay straight. It's not frizzy at all. I just put a little Pantene Ice Shine mousse in it before I blow dry.
