Why isnt my hair turning color?

i am trying to dye my hair darkish blonde but it is not turning ? i left the dye in for 20 minutes longer then supposed to .... whats going on i have medium brown hair ... is there any other way to do it ... ?

You have to bleach it, sweetie. You can't go that much lighter without bleaching first. Dye can only lighten hair one shade, that's just how it works. Going from brown to blonde is impossible without prelightening. And 20 minutes isn't THAT long. I've left dye in TWO HOURS before.
