My friend is gonna "bleach" her hair w/ lemon juice...?

She is dark blonde, brown on the bottom. while she is in mexico, she is gonna "bleach" her hair w/ lemon juice. i was wondering what she is gonna look like if she has dark to medium blonde hair. is it gonna change how shiny or soft her hair is? thanks

The lemon juice works pretty well, just condition afterwards. She could also try beach blonde by John Freida,it looks like a gel and has real citrus in it, this also works well. I always use lemon juice to streak my hair in the sun, I don't like putting chemicals in my hair

It might make her lose her hair luster and be less shiny. Bleaching does that, it damages your hair a bit. If she doesn't do it too often, it shouldn't damage it too much.

Many people do this - apply the lemon juice and go out in the sun - it will bleach it alright, but it will also damage it horribly! Haver her go to a salon and get some highlights!

No, all the lemon juice is going to do to her hair is make it lighter and bring out natural highlights. Lemon juice applied to the hair then soked in the sun has this affect. But keep in mind that the lemon juice will strip the hair of natural oils that keep it hydrated so after she does this she might want to get a good moisterizing conditioner or hot oil treatment.

Tell her it would probably not be a good idea because, it might end up turning her hair orange and make it dry. Because of the citric acids in the lemon juice, it may lighten her hair, but it will cause more damage than good.

Hope this helped!!

xo love
