Help with hair styling?

i have long medium thick hair that when i curl it it just falls out, tried hairspray mousse setting spray HELP!!!!!!!!!! styling tips for long hair too please

Help with hair styling?

you probably have too much things in your hair as is. maybe that is why your curls are not holding. shampoo, condition, rinse with luke warm water, towel blot, rub in thermal proctective cream or spray, comb through blow dry, use kenra thermal spray (it make beautiful curls and hold nicely). but take small section or easy since you are doing your own hair. section it in four or two down the middle. take a curling size section. easy to know the size section should be the same size of your curling iron. thats how you know how big of a section to take. this way heat with transfer thoughout that section of your hair. before your place the curling iron in your hair. spray the strand of hair first. then curl it. dont touch the hair. touching will make the hair fall quicker. when you dont touch it the hair will cool down and set in a beautiful curl. do each strand this way. once finish. use the kenra thermal spray on the entire head. by spraying it arm length of the hair. dont stay in one spot. your not trying to soak the hair. so just about three squirt.

Help with hair styling?

curl smaller sections and keep up the work with the hairspray

Help with hair styling?

OK if your curling your hair and it falls out something is seriously wrong or your hair is in bad condition. Also what kinda products are you using on your hair? You should get a ceramic curling iron and try that it will not fry out your hair and it works better for keeping a curl and otherwise if you have any kinda curl in your hair at all get it wet put some big tricks hair moose in your hair (its made by matrix), and diffuse it and spray with hair spray looks great.

Help with hair styling?

put spray on each strand before u curl it and after u curl it. then again once ur done curling all ur hair.

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

I have medium long hair. Its 20 inches long. (I measured, lol)

I am getting bangs and a ton of layers. If the shortest layer is 18 inches longs, how will it effect my hair??

I have wavy hair, it only curls at the end.

Any tips on what I should get?

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

I think wat ur doing is perfect. Layers will make it seem like your hair is shorter but it will add a lot of life to your, when you blow-dry it, it will look amazing!

I have wavy-hair as well and i cut my hair just like u want it (i got side-swept bangs) i love and it's fun and flirty no matter what i do to it...

Go for it girl!

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

I think it will look good. It will make your hair have more depth and volume, but it shouldn't make it look shorter. I think you'll love it, it's good for a nice change.

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

i think it will give your hair more body and wont look so flat (if you have a prob with flat hair). so i think it will look great and not too short!

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

it wont really effect it at all..it will probably looka lil tiny bit shorter but it should groe after 1 week and thats bout it..good luck =]

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

It depends on how long your hari is now.

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

I have layers they are really nice.

Layers are a good way to add body to your hair and a bit of face- framing shape to it. In some cases the hair may look shorter from a front veiw, but will remain fairly long looking in the back. I would say yes and no depending on the hair type. You said your hair is medium long, so it just might look a bit shorter, but once it starts to grow it will look longer. I have wavy hair as well, I use a lot of John Frieda products, or Revlon. Depending on your hair texture, I would use a wrap lotion after washing it, it will help your hair stayle stay bouncy, free-flowing and shiny. I would wrap it before I go to sleep at night, it helps it grow healthier. It also makes your layers stand out more beautifly.

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

I also have long, wavy hair with layers. Adding long layers will add body and shape to your hair. Try not to cut the layers any shorter than chin-length, or it will look funny since the length of your hair is so long. Also, you should take the shape of your face into consideration when deciding on any new haircut. Layers should frame your face nicely. If you have a good hairdresser, he/she should be able to give you some good tips, so don't be shy- make suggestions and ask lots of questions. Good luck!

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

Layers make it have more volume. I have seen your hair and it will look really good!

Will LAYERS Make My HAIR Look SHORTER?

yes, because I got my hair cut in layers last summer and now my hair grew back and when it's in a ponyail it's shorter and the hairs in the ponytail is uneven.

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

I have strait medium textured hair. Maybe a little fine. When I do my hair with rollers it looks great, but only last about an hour!! I have tried a couple of products. Does anyone know one that will leave my hair curly but not hard and crispy???

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

I have the exact same problem, but I've never found a solution. Good luck.

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

Put gel on when you curl it and sorry theres no other way for it to stay longer!!!

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

Use a TON of hairspray! And stay out of the wind, it blows the curls out.

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

i got the same problem except my hair is super duper straight and this really works. ok right after you wash your hair, blow dry hair for 3 mins or let it air dry for 5 mins. then put lots lots lots and lots of mousse in your hair. then if you are going to use a curling iron, blow dry until completely dry. then start curling and evry piece of hair you wrap on the curling iron count until 20-30 secs(its might take a long time to finish like about 1-2 hours.) or if you are going to use rollers or hot rollers then blow dry until hair is damp( just a lil lil lil wee bit dry like 90%-95% dry) then just start rolling. this really works on me i did it once and it took 3 and a half hrs. but it was worth it, it came out great and even stayed until the next day.

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

Redken has some very good products that assist in getting hair and keeping hair curly. I have much luck with them. Another less expensive option is the Loreal Studio Line. They have several sprays, gels and mousses that work well too.

here is the Redken site.

Good Luck!

Why won't my hair stay Curly!!?

i use got2b ( there are two dots on top of the o) after hours laminating shine hairspray. it works and does not make your hair that hard.Smell great too.

Have you thought about getting a perm. A stylist may be able to answer this also.

Where can you find a website with possible hair style choices for women in their 50's? Thanks.?

I am going to the beauty school in only two days so I need help FAST ! I have worn it in a tight twisted knot for many years (very very easy) but with my dishwater gray rapidly coming it, it looks horribly mousey at this time. I would like to keep it long enuf to tie back still if possible, but it is very thin medium brown hair. I also am going to ask about blonde highlights, I used to have them. The reason I wrote askyahoo is because

I looked up 50's hair on the internet and all I basically found were things about 1950 hair styles. Any and all advice appreciated. I have never been to a hairdresser nor have I ever dyed my hair. I am an old hippie. I want things to look very natural and have low maintenance and not need too many touchups. None of my women friends (all hippies) have any experience in this area either (or else they're too embarrassed to admit that they actually 'touched dye.'). I guess it's true what they used to say, "only her hairdresser knows for sure." Thanks.

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

I have medium brown hair, brown eyes, and an olive skintone.

I was thinking of dying my hair a darker shade of brown and putting platinum blonde (or some type of light blonde) highlights in. Would this look horrible? I've always wanted some type of blonde in my hair but it seems like theres no hope...Any advice/tips?

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

Go to a professional , and they can strip your hair color to get successful highlights

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

TRASHY. Go to a pro for highlights.

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

Instead of going darker brown, I would do a lighter brown, and put blond highlights into that. It would clash a lot less and be much more pretty and natural. Good luck!

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

as long as u dont get those ugly chunks it will look cool. those flecks and streaks of blonde look awesome in brown hair

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

ya i agree go lighter then put you blone highlights in :)

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

of course that would always look good no matter what colour skin u have

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

go for it! maybe if you do it a black, now that would look hot.Definitely attract the guys.

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

this is what i have

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

Don't do platnium it will look trashy. Instead do dark goldish highlights in the dark hair. Good luck!

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

platinum blond with brown looks grey. just so you know.

professionally speaking, i would say a carmel color (so it won't look red, but more neutral color)

personall speaking, i would get a halo (a strip from temple to temple, inside the hairline one inch) of a color like pink or purple. it only shows when you turn your head or the wind catches your hair just right. it's just a hint of something-something to be fun and different.

i did this to a client of mine at prom time. she was blond. i did a band of blue and a band of pink then an updo. her dress was irridescent. she looked so cool! she looked like a doll (an actual doll) in pictures!

Dark brown hair, platinum blonde highlights?

dont go darker, if anything go lighter before highlights. I would just get highlights done to your natural shade first, then go from there. just tell stylist what you want and how you want it to turn out.

Hair help... how to keep it stright??

i kno so many ppl have asked this question but i need specific help. i have my homecoming dance tonight and everytime i strighten my hair it gets curly in like 30 minutes. i have a hot tools prfessonals strightener and medium lenght hair. i don't have time to go out and but anythng 2 put in it but does anyone know how to keep it stight without anything? is it better 2 blowdry it first?? thanks in advance!

Hair help... how to keep it stright??

Everyday, get up about 30 minutes earlier than you usually do. Then, take a nice lukewarm shower and wash your hair with shampoos and conditioners that are made for straight hair. (I like to use Herbal Essences: Dangerously Straight - it works!) After that, blow dry your hair and use an acceptable flat iron (I prefer CHI but see sources for the website that helped me when I first got a straightner).

Then, comb your hair out and part as wished.

Finally, use some high-quality hairspray that you can purchase at salons and spray your hair with a nice, thick coat.

~~~Good luck!!!~~~
Hair help... how to keep it stright??
Yes, if you have moose put that in your hair first, then blowdry it, then strighten it, it works for me!
have fun.
Hair help... how to keep it stright??
Well, I would go to the store and buy some thermal straightinging gel . Apply on hair and straighten with a staritener. Your gorgeuos hair will stay flat and no friss for 24 hours.
Hair help... how to keep it stright??
Well, without anything you'll just have the curly hair. Here's a tip for the future: Get a straitening perm box from the major stores. You can do it at home alone, or with someone else's help, and it lasts for 3-6 months.
Hair help... how to keep it stright??
I have very kinky curly hair (all natural) and it's medium length. I straighten my hair by: Blow dry using a round brush (round brushes are designed to add curl, curve and volume to straight hair, as well as to straighten wavy or curly hair) then I straighten my hair with a straightening iron (do it by layers starting from the bottom). After that I use a regular curling iron to soften the edges and such. All my irons are ceramic - its better for straightening. I also us frizz type products in my hair to help it straighten and not be frizzy. The only time my curl comes back is if my hair gets wet (by sweat or water) - this is inevitable because that's just how I was born. If you don't want curl to come back at all, the only way to do it is to professionally and chemically have it straightened. I used to do that but don't anymore... it damages my hair too much and my roots grow out curly so it looks retarded between straightening treatments (which are expensive also). All in all, it takes some time to straighten really curly hair well enough to stay straight... so plan accordingly and stay away from moisture!
Hair coloring? brown to blonde> what will it look like?
i have medium brown hair, and i want super light blonde hair.
but im afraid that if i die it it will be orange or yellow?
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
Get it done professionally. Especially when going lighter.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
It will be blonde.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
You should get it professionally done. They can make sure it turns out how you like it, but if you do it on your own you are risking it turning orange or yellow.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
same prob first bleech it then color it
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
You should bleach it until it's close to the shade you want, then dye it with the blond color. Careful not to damage your hair too much.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
HORRIBLE!
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
it will be, youll definently hav eto bleach it more then once, my best friend had to bleah it 8 times to get it platinum. I say o to the salon to get the best result!
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
You have to get a color "blonder" than you'd like it to be, as it won't color it that blonde since you have darker brown hair....Oh, just know too, there is a chance you may have red highlights!!
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
idk but you can go to a wed site and get yourhair color changed it looks realy cool
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
do not attempt this at the home seek a professional that way you will have someone on hand when it goes wrong
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
You need to go that blonde in stages. It WILL go orange or yellow if you try to do it in one step.
Also, buy yourself some good hair toner, and use if to keep the blonde from oxidising and turning coppery/brassy.
Please though, don't try to do it all in one step, it WON'T work and you will look odd. Do it gradually.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
Dont get super blonde highlights. Try a honey color instead that way you know you are safe from orange. If you do want the really blonde ones then dont leave the dye on very long!
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
umm, hard to say, post a picture of yourself
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
my friend has brown hair- she dyed it blonde... it looked good- then it kind of changed to an orange-y color and it looked amazing- then it changed back brown...hope this helps!!
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
Don't do it yourself, trust me. Get it done professional, and expect to touch up every 3 weeks. I suggest hilights, they last longer and look more realistic when done right
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
It will be blonde. Go to a specialist. They may have to do a final toner on it to take out any orange. Also you may need to use a toning shampoo every other day. This keeps the orangy/yellowy out. "brassiness"
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
Are you black? (by your avatar) I'd be worried too. Maybe have a professional do it?
Any time you are going gobs and gobs of shades of colors different there's always a risk.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
1st time you dye your hair blonde...go to the hairdresser then its really easy ...most of the retail chemist have great products...but i would have a professional do it initially...good luck...blondes have great fun
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
When you go to the store look on the side of the box there is a color chart on the side (of some not all) match up your color and the one you are buying and it will show you. Hope you like it
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
NEVER GO DARKER
any salon professional will tell you that
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
Defiantly get it done professionally. I died my light brown hair hair bleach blond with an at home kit and my hair looked AWFUL! It was orangish blond...then when I tried to dye it back brown it was brown for a while then turn orange.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
The hair coloring products in the drug store are remarkably good, will give you the color you're looking for (see examples on the box). About $10 will give you a whole new look, for about a week. The main problem with lightening your hair is what happens to the roots. Be prepared to spend hours keeping it looking right, and doing it every few weeks if you do the whole thing. The roots show almost immediately when there's a big change in color, and dark roots look awful, I think. A better solution is to put light streaks in first, see if you like it. That way roots arent such a problem. And check out the colors close to your own so you can go back to original if you want.
Also, the color does change (yellower) from sunlight, or if it grows long. You have to keep restoring it. Can be hard on your hair. The chemistry: going lighter requires a strong peroxide-type bleach. Going darker doesn't.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
the only way that it'll be a weird color is if you died it from blonde to black, black to blonde. Or if the hair dresser messes up.
Hair coloring? brown to blonde%26gt; what will it look like?
Try a light golden brown first, then try golden blonde, then light blonde, then very light blonde. If you go just from brown to blonde, your hair will be very damaged and the ends will break/split. Gradually work your way up to the color you want.
Hope this helps!
