How do I get this brown semi permanent hair dye out of my hair?

I used to have blonde hair and I thought i would have a change so I bought a boots own semi permanent medium brown hair dye ,when I put it on it went near on black.No hair dresser will strip it for me as my hair is in quite bad condition. I have tried twice to bleach over it my self but the bleach wont take to it. Can anyone help me? Linzi x

Oh, my. You need to be careful if your hair is in bad condition. First of all, PUT DOWN THE BLEACH. If it was a semi-permanent color, then first try washing it with a high detergent shampoo, like Prell or Head and Shoulders. Put the shampoo on later, rinse. Then aplly it again, later %26amp; then let it sit on it for at least 5 min then rinse out. After everytime you shampoo, make sure you are using a good conditioner as to not totally damage your hair. Sometimes using hot oil treatments can help to fade semi color quicker as well.

When I have dyed my hair and want rid, using washing powder to wash your hair will gradually strip the colour!!

If your hair is in that bad condition use the faric conditioner 2!! LOL

I haven't tried this but the link below is for some stuff I saw in InStyle. It says that it is for your exact situation. I guess it's worth a try. Also if your hair is in bad shape I'd be careful and get some really good deep conditioner and sleep with it in your hair!

Ok, step away from the bleach - you think it's bad having black hair, it'll be miles worse if the bleach takes as you could end up with sludge green hair.

I'm guessing you really don't want your hair quite so dark so give your hair a good few washes with Head and Shoulders (it's really strong, will flush out excess dye) and then really condition it.

Sorry but there's no real quick fix to this.

Yikes! I've done that. I'll tell you from experience that bleaching it out will destroy your hair. I did the exact same thing and after bleaching it out, my hair literally melted and broke off an inch from the roots. It was catastrophic.

Wait 4 weeks, deep condition your hair and treat it gently. Avoid the hairdryer and curling/straightening iron, and if you can get away with it avoid washing it as often. Let it rest. After the 4 weeks is up return to your hairdresser and see what she can do for you.

In the meantime, remind yourself that it is better to have darker hair, than no hair.
