Dying brown hair blonde???

i just coloured my light -to medium brown hair dark brown and i would like to dye it blonde some time soon... would it damage my hair too much? who else turned their brown hair blonde? is the maintenance a bit too much?

Maintenance is alot, I have dark blonde hair and have to get it done every 4 weeks. I am assuming you used a box color from walmart (big no no) You should wait at least 4 days, do a bunch of deep conditiong treatments and then go to a professional and get it done.

I have the exact same situation as you! I went from light brown to dark brown and now I'm thinking I want to go dirty blonde. But I don't want to fry my hair usually you need to bleach your eyebrows to match. Anywho tell me how it works out Report It

Yes it will damage ur hair I know ALOT of my friends that dye there hair and after awhile there hair start breaking off! So all I'm saying is I think you should stop ding ur hair before its to late!

It would damage your hair, but if you really want it, just give your hair a treatment to help damaged hair after. I've seen those at Publix and sometimes you can make them out of items from your fridge. Try going online to get one.

Blonde hair dye itself wont work to make your hair blonde, you'll most likely have to bleach your hair, that's what I did. But I re-dyed it brown not long after, because It didn't look good.

It would most likely damage your hair, and bleaching it does hurt your scalp a little, but really not much at all.

i dont kno if it would damage it too much but i do kno that sometimes when people with brown hair dye it blonde it doesnt really work out. it is because sometimes their skin tone is too dark for blonde hair.

That's a lot of work! Dark brown to blonde means bleaching and coloring over that. You definitely are going to want to get this done in a salon. It will be a lot easier than trying to do it yourself. It will be hard and it will be a long process.

Here are just a few things you should know about dying your hair blonde, or just dying it for that matter...

-If you have dyed your hair in the previous six weeks, then you should not dye your hair again. You have to wait at least six weeks between each dye job.

-You may want to have a professional dye your hair for you. Certain brands can actually turn your hair green, especially when they come in contact with chlorine. Besides, a salon can do a better job most of the time.

-You can only dye your hair lighter if it is permanent, so be aware that you will have permanent blonde hair and you will need to touch up the roots frequently.

keep dyeing it. as long as you condition it well. trust me, I have black hair and over the last month ive dyed it about 7 times so far.. Or I might think 7 times is too much. Max for you should be 2 times a month, because your hair is already so light and it wont take much work to reach blonde. good luck.

don't dye your hair with permanent or demi-permanent ones..it will damage the hair..i think u should try this.It should help
