I just bought a bottle of SUN-IN hair lightener!
I was wondering a few things....
1.) Does it even work!? I have medium-brown hair....
2.) If it does work, how long does it take to notice a color difference?
3.) Is it safe to go in chlorine water (a pool) with Sun-in in your hair? My hair won't turn green or anything in the pool, will it!?!?
Thanks so much!!
Anyone ever used SUN-IN hair lightener? Questions!!?
My hair is a medium brown, and I used to use sun-in all the time. It always made my hair really blond, but the sun tends to bleach my hair out regardless. But in the summer, when you're outside all the time, it looks pretty good. I can't believe I used to be that blonde! I also used to go in the pool all the time with no trouble.
My cousin, whose hair is a few shades darker than mine, used it and her hair turned orange. If your hair is really dark brown, I wouldn't try it, but it works great on dirty blonde/light to medium brown hair.

Yes, It works. It makes your hair like reddish brown if you have medium brown hair. It does not take that long to tell if you blow dry it. I do not remember anything bad happening to me when I went swimming in a swimming pool, but I can not say how your reaction may be. I used it a long time ago.

I've used Sun-In before and DID NOT have a good experience with it. Honestly, I wouldnt reccomend it. It might be because my hair is super dark brown-almost black but, yes it did make parts of my hair lighter, i dont think it's an instant difference because i remember i kept spraying more and more on my hair cuz i couldnt see a difference at first. and i don't believe you can go into the pool with it, not sure about color but it will dry your hair out nasty!

That crap is horrible! I used it when I was like...ten. It smells. It makes your hair feel dry. And it turns it an orangey color. I wouldn't suggest using it. Putting lemon juice in your hair works, it lightens your hair naturally, it smells better and it is a lot cheaper and better for your hair.

Sun In is basically peroxide, which can be used as well the stronger peroxide. It does work but it is a gradual lightening and with medium brown hair it may just give you a very faint reddish tint. It works with the heat from the sun if your outside or you can use a hairdryer as well to speed it up, it isn't a super quick color change like hair dyes. If your hair only gets a little lighter it would be ok to go in the pool, if you put lots in and kept getting it lighter and lighter there is a chance the chlorine could cause some greenish tints which most people don't want. So if you just get a faint lightening of your hair since it is medium brown I think the pool thing would be fine. The more dryed out and damaged it seems that you have a higher chance of getting green hair. Hope that helps you out.
